Review of the Modern Maximum Power Tracking Algorithms for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator of Wind Power Conversion Systems

Wind energy conversion systems (WECSs) are considered green generators, environmentally friendly, and fully suitable sources to replace fossil sources. WECS’s output power is hugely dependent on the random nature of wind. There many solutions improve for WECSs, such as adjusting profile turbine blades, locating installation places, improving etc. Nevertheless, maximum point tracking (MPPT) algorithms WECSs optimal most effective because they flexible in controlling different variable wind speeds match all types WECS. The parameters generator side control or grid will be adjusted when MPPT used, allowing maximized while maintaining stability variable-speed various algorithms, but current problem their efficiency whether it requires deep knowledge select best each method has advantages disadvantages. This study implemented an overview modern applied permanent magnet synchronous generators WECS with MPP methods based speed convergence, efficiency, self-training, complexity, measurement parameters.
